GameMenu95 is the world's most universal game-menu system for playing 3D-Games with Windows-95 or Windows-NT. GameMenu95 has many extra features for running Zip-Maps, Total-Conversion, Game-Editing, Multiplayer-games, and Networking. These features are not found in any game, nor are they found in any other game launcher. GameMenu95 greatly enhances games like Duke Nukem, Quake 1&2, Doom 1&2, Redneck Rampage, Shadow Warrior, Blood, Hexen 1&2, and more. About GameMenu95 ================= GameMenu95 is a windows95/98 front-end loader for many popular 3d-games. A front-end loader is a program that runs a second program with a predefine command and environment. The main purpose of a front-end loader is to save the user from having to enter codes on the DOS prompt. Windows95/98 front-end loaders also saves the user from having to maneuver around an antiquated, key-board-input, DOS based menu. GameMenu95 is the Royal Royce of front-end loaders. While other front-end loaders can launch one or two predefined games, GameMenu95 has 19 predefined games, and can launch any other game with the user's input. GameMenu95 has speacial features that makes it easy to use TC's. These features include launching zip TC's (Save hard drive space), launching TC's from any drive or directory, launching a paticular level within the TC, and auto conversion (Duke3d 1.3 to Duke3d 1.5). Multiplayer ============ GameMenu95 greatly simplifies launching multiplayer games on an IPX-network or a mode. IPX: ==== Launching a multiplayer game using an IPX network, is simplified with GameMenu95. It can find the other computers waiting to play the selected game, and then automatically start them with the setting of the first computer. This cuts down on false starts where one or more player(s) launch the game with the wrong map or settings. While users wait for all players to join in, GameMenu95 displays a dialog window in which players can send instant messages to each other. Modem: ====== GameMenu95 has a phone-book feature which allows users to store phone numbers and names in a mini database. The user can then select any name from the database for launching a multiplayer modem to modem game. Internet: ======== GameMenu95 can also store IP address. This allows the user to select from an IP address to start a multiplayer game. Currently, the makers of GameMenu95 are working on adding an internet play option that will allow users to play games, like Duke Nukem and Redneck Rampage, on the internet. Duke3d Extra: GameMenu95 has a built-in CON editor. By using the CON editor, users can create a CON file that will launch multiple user custom maps on a multiplayer game. When one map is done, the user don't have to back out and start again. Instead the next map can be started from within the game. Maps ==== GameMenu95 can launch a single or multiplayer game with the selected file. Using the built-in filemanager, the user can double click a map, and the program will launch the game with the map selected. If the map is in zip format, GameMenu95 will unzip the file, and then launch the game. When GameMenu95 launches a game like Quake or Hexen2, it automatically copies the map file to the game directory. This makes it possible to launch maps from a CD or from any directory. When launching a zip TC, GameMenu95 creates a temporary subdirectory under the game directory. Then it unzip's the files to the temporary directory, and runs the game in the temporary directory selected. Launching maps on a multiplayer game using an IPX network, is simplified with GameMenu95.
