How it all started..... Well, I started building the Nightmare level when I started having all these weird nightmares with chicks and grease... No, of course not!! };-) Actually, believe me or not, Nightmare is my THIRD level that I have ever built, and the FIRST single level that I've experienced with!! (the first two being Race On The Mountains and A Race In The Mystic House). I did not have any experience with Duke's Build at all. It started like this: I got Shadow Warrior, and found out that I could build levels... It excited me greatly, and I started having all these ideas for my level... TONS of ideas... However, not wanting to jump straight into making complicated stuff, I decided to make a few WangBang levels first... And they turned out GREAT!! And that boosted my courage, and encouraged me to build this huge single player level. Why the "nightmare" theme? Well, it is all because of the fact that I had sooooo many coooool ideas that I did not know how to put most, if not all of them in my level... Then one day, when I was taking shower (don't the greatest ideas always come when you take a shower?), and I suddenly thought, hey, I can connect them all with a great storyline and the "nightmare" theme!! So I got excited, and went on building ever thus. Another big reason is, NO ONE has done something this crazy to their levels!! So if you've played my first two WangBang levels, I love making levels that are far different from others!! Another reason is that I got to do so many cooool effects that NO ONE could do to their levels, including "flying fish", "flying chair", "breathing floor", and stuff. Also, this is the perfect "practice map" for me to practice and learn all the cool effects that Build can do. So what's next? Nightmare 2? Don't count on it!! };-) Sequals rarely sell well!! However, the story line for Nightmare was so cool, I decided to expand it for something... Something that I can't tell you yet... };-) Just wait it out... ---Jonathan The Grape

The Secret's Out!!
A LOT of people have since submitted times like 14 seconds and 12 seconds to me for the Gamers' Challenge thingie. Which makes it pretty pointless to update that chart up there. So I guess I'm gonna ask you to stop... because anyone can get times like that using the shortcut!! So don't use the shortcut and try to beat that 41 seconds record set by Jestarr!! I challenge you to even reach 41 seconds -- I know I can't!!
"What shortcut?" a lot of you ask. Okay, the secret's out -- there's a shortcut in the race level. All you have to do is drive the tank INTO the first park you see (the one with the big fountain). Just go in through the entrance, and it will take you directly to the exit. This interesting glitch was due to some Build problems I encountered, but I decided to leave it in there because it's so fun };-)
So this Gamers' Challenge isn't fun anymore, and it's old. Therefore, I've taken it down, and I'll put one up soon... Do you have a cool suggestion? Tell Me!!
Oh yeah, also... I've got tons of comments updated on our Players' Comments page!! Boy all you people are so satisfied with the TC!! I'm so glad!! Whee!! If you have something to say about the TC, be sure to TELL ME!!

Some Amazing Times!!!!
Check out the Gamers' Challenge table up there. Aren't the two newest entries amazing? Rest assured, they did not use any cheat codes. And this was intended to be possible when I made the map... So how did they do it? Try to find out!! And if you've found the way, try not to tell other people... It's more fun that way };-) If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about, check out Gamers' Challenge page!!

Due to popular demand, I have uploaded the thing many of you have asked for -- the theme music for Tonight Never Ends, composed by the talented Phillip Winwood, in MP3 format!! In fact, it quickly found its way into my regular WinAmp playlist rotation. So, go ahead and download it now!! It's a 5.20MB download.

**UPDATE -- Well, looks like things are certainly getting interesting in the Gamers' Challenge front... Jestarr comes killing in with a whopping 41 seconds race time!!!! Wow, I don't think I've ever dipped that low!! (except when I... wahahahaha, I'll tell you a few days later };-) Keep in mind that you don't have to have the best time to submit your time!! Also if you can get 41 seconds also, be sure to submit your name to me too!!
Updated the Players Comments page with another entry from David Geyerd. Here's what he had to say: "This tc is the best i've seen yet. Tc Viewer (ME only right now) say this kicks total @$$ perfect 10.0!!!" Nice };-) Keep those comments coming, people!!

I'll announce what it is a bit later };-) Oh yeah, also, updated the Players Comments with one more very short comment from another very enthusiastic player };-) Check it out.
I have set up a page called Players Comments, where I'll store what you think of Tonight Never Ends!! So keep on playing, and let me know!!
In fact, Jestarr has already finished the whole TC!! Here's a clip of what he has to said:
I have finished the TC!!! One word: Rockin'. The way levels are put together are cool. There were also some new innovations, like the moving boxes on "French Connections". "Dying City" and "The Escape" had to be one of the best levels I've seen. Read the rest HERE!! And keep the comments coming!!

I'm BAAAAACK!!!!
And, I have good news and bad news. Good news is, I got the final music/sound files from Phillip (who's been doing a kickass job, if I may say so myself)!! Bad news is, I haven't gotten the final art tiles yet... I've emailed Eidern to ask what's going on, and will hopefully get a reply soon. Until I do, however, TNE may be on hold for a little while (but a very short while this time). That means, I can no longer promise an August release, since things did not really go my way. I'm sorry.
But once I get the art tiles, I'll be sure to put the thing together asap, so stay tuned, and don't roam too far away!!

Going On Vacation...
That's right. I'll be gone from August 4th to probably 25th. So you won't hear from me during that time period, nor will you see any news update.
I know what you're thinking. Worry not!!!! I will keep up my end of the bargain. TNE WILL BE RELEASED IN AUGUST!!!! Hmm... let's hear that again:
TNE WILL BE RELEASED IN AUGUST!!! };-)
When I'm gone, my artist Eidern will be working on and sending me the final art tiles. Phillip Winwood will also get the final version of the theme song music in VOC format to me, so when I'm back, if all things go well, I can simply compile them all, test it, zip it up, upload it, and update this page };-) So expect this thing done before the end of August!!!!

Multiplay FUN!!!
I succeeded in setting up a LAN game for the first time, and of course, the first thing I tried playing with my friend is TNE's multiplay };-) And, yes, I found it fun!!
One of the levels we played was "Arsenal", made by me (you can see two shots of this level in the screenshot section). This map actually counts down 10 minutes, and will self-destruct completely at the end. During the course, after about 2 minutes or so, explosions will start setting in, and ceilings will start falling, walls will start exploding, etc, etc, etc, closing off old areas and opening up new ones. So, through this 10 minutes, the level will change gradually. The final 2 minutes, however, is the most intense, as the main arena starts changing shape, and a permanent, very violent shake sets in. During these 2 minutes, the ceiling slowly crushes down, and the widespread panic can be imagined };-) Very fun indeed.
Another we thought was fun was the multiplayer version of our secret level. Of course, I can't tell you much right here or it would defeat the purpose of having it a "secret", but let's just say it's kind of like "Saving Private Ryan" };-)
We also have a WB version of the MI-6 level that you've seen in the demo. This version have expanded areas, more rooms, and of course, more weapons. The ambience was surprisingly strong, and the fight for the control of the remote-controled laser-shooting car was very fun. (Yes, the laser-shooting toy car will be guarding a nukehead in the WB version };-)
Then we tried playing Death Casino, a level that I am immensely proud of. Unfortunately, it is simply too big for us, so we had to stop. This map is better for something like 4-8 players. But anyway, as you can see in our screenshots, it is VERY detailed, very well-connected, and tons of fun.
From the looks of things, I think it can be safe to say that we'll have an August release!!!!

A Little Help??
We've hit a rock. Our cut-scene is done, but we don't have anyone to make the sounds for it. Does anyone know how to do it, or can anyone recommend someone to me? Please???? Please, please. Or else, I'll just have to release this thing without the sounds for the cut-scene, which I don't think is too important anyway. Any thoughts?
Oh yeah, here's the obigatory SORRY };-) Really, I really am deeply, deeply sorry for dragging this on, and it's really pretty much because the stupid me made some stupid decisions that slowed the production down (like making new weapons, etc) Believe me, the TC is still tons of fun though!! I just did another compile and played through it, and I found myself really missing Shadow Warrior };-)
