How To Play |
SWProasm is a OpenGL port for Shadow Warrior built of off the exisitng JonoFsw OpenGL port.
Redux available on Steam(for a fee) is also derived from JonoFs Sw port so they will all have basically the same options.
Simply place your Sw.grp file from your original copy of Shadow Warrior into the SWP folder and play. Using SWP/JonoFsw/Redux is the modern way to play Shadow Warrior and not only makes the game compatible with newer operating systems but has high resolution, better mouse movement
and many other benefits..
The above screenshot is of the main screen you will first see when loading SWP. Here I have SWP 4.3.2 loaded. Each following screenshot is of the available tabs in the SWP program. SWP like JonoFsw still contains the odd bug or 2 and is not compatible with some hardware, so it works for most but not for some. That said, if you are experiencing mouse movement issues, try turning your Vsync off/on to fix that. If you are having sound issues try turning down your main volume a little ( for sound crackling ) or run SWP in a different compatibility mode ( xp/Vista.) This is assuming you are using Windows 7 32/64 bit. Also try fiddling with the sound settings available. I myself have not had any issues with SWP other than the 4.3.2 SaveGame bug.
SWP v4.3.2 will eventually corrupt your singleplayer save game files and renders them useless. SWP 4.3.0 is functionally the same as 4.3.2 yet does not have the save game bug. 4.3.0 however only has 1-2 player multiplayer functioning properly. 4.3.2 has 1-8 player working properly. So in short, SWP 4.3.0 is best used for singleplayer if you intend on doing alot of game saving, 4.3.2 is better suited for multiplay(online) use due to 1-8 player functioning. Once in-game you may setup your controls and other settings aswell. The rest is functionally the same as the original ( press "T" for talk, all original cheats work + some new cheats, "+/-" to expand/shrink the screen, "Scroll Lock" to holster weapon, "i" to toggle Aiming Sight, Function commands etc..)
